will work for shoes

I booked at least one, maybe three abbadabba's commercials. It depends on which direction the client chooses to go. Hopefully, they'll go with the idea that will put me in all three and put some money, well... I would say in my pocket, but it'll go straight to paying some important stuff. Like Car Insurance and the like. Especially if it's the tri-use vs. the solo use. I totally needed this, so thanks to the acting gods for giving it to me.

you've got blow.

Did you know that one of every five one-dollar bills has traces of cocaine on it.

I was told this, and I'm not kidding, by someone who works for the CIA.
They've tested it and analyzed it because there was a man in an airport
who got some food, payed with a $20 and got change. He was traveling
internationally and eventually went through customs/security. There
were drug sniffing dogs there and the dogs wouldn't leave him alone. After
some grueling hours, they asked him about his small wad of one-dollar bills
and he explained he had gotten change, luckily had the receipt and the bills
matched up with the change that he had on him. And that was all they could
find. They let him go. We are all just a step away from being locked up, really.
Truly.

Oh, on the TV right now is that episode of cheaters where the host got stabbed. It's such a good episode. Now that's entertainment... these people are stealing our jobs!

crook-playing

Yep. It's been a long, crazy week. ablebody, zombie sitcom and I worked for the NCDC (National Criminal Defense College), where we play mostly criminals but also defendants, eyewitnesses, cops, FBI agents and for the ladies... victims of r-ape. This role-playing is used in the continuing education of practicing defense attorney's across this nation of ours. It happens every October and March for 2 days and then for 2 weeks in both June and July. It is my sixth year doing it. Bizzare. I get to call up the tears a lot when I play the r-ape victim. Quite draining and hard not to get a little sympathetic depression. As the actor, we help in training the attorney to use tone of voice, silence, movement and such to communicate to the jury and get what they want out of a witness. We also train in strategy and looking for how to read someone on the stand. And a ton of other stuff. It's extremely interesting and I always walk away a bit closer (but still extremely far away) to better understanding the human psyche, trigger and response. Always at the end of the session, I am so very ready for it to be done with. But I always look forward to doing it. Kind of like dating.

Mixing it up.

I got a new agent. Well, it's not 'in stone', but they've offered so it's my call. I'm meeting with them on Wednesday. They seem really excited about working with me, so that's cool. I just want to meet with all of them face to face before I decide for sure. This 'new' agency is new in the sense that there was some sort of drama at a current agency and this group of them split. Forming this one a-new. It could be really great to get in with them on the ground floor. It could be not so great. We'll see. If they get me out on more auditions... that's all I care about. It's nice to have change. I need even more right now, so this is a good start.

Loss

My memory is getting worse. Improv has contributed severly to that loss, of course, other things do, too. My memory used to be impeccable. Did you know you can train and retrain your memory? Kind of teaching yourself to forget. Or vice-versa. Short-term is where it's at, as far my disintegration. Long-term loss is minimal for me. Check your short-term and long-term here.

Take a listen

I don't know if you guys have listened to or heard of M.I.A. You need to. Her first album was released this year. I think I may have heard clunkyrobot or Casey Willis talk about her. Maybe not. But they will. Another band I have known and liked for several years and have just been listening to a lot again: The Cranes, who released a new album in early September. Check 'em. And I like TV on the Radio a lot, too. Tell me what you think!

My Pops

Haven't seen any of Coach Dad? I know you've never seen Coach Dad doing the moon walk on the football field. He coached the first Milton shut-out game (in their history) on 9/30/05. Go Eagles! This high school stadium is insane. Sprint turf, Jumbotron and all.

If you have a minute and want to surf, go see some pictures of him (he's pumping his fist and grinning just up and to the left of the score board) game action shots, etc. Click on events home, varsity football and navigate through individual games. He's the man with the white hair and the head coach, so you'll figure out who he is pretty quickly. He's the best dad!

Um.

I lost my booboo kitty for almost but not quite 24 hours. Last night, what did I do? I was... oh, I went to a movie with Caroline (my other roomate). I was up until 7:30AM on Slaturday night/Slunday morning. It was a nice nite. Anyway, needless to say, not 100% sound mind last night. I got home, talked to Randy a bit. Got a shower. Got a towel out of the linen closet. Getting ready for bed, I look for little booboo to tell her goodnight. She gets mad if I don't. Couldn't find her. Heard her meow quietly. Tried again to find. To no avail. I thought she was playing tag with me and I was having none of it. Went to bed. Woke up. She didn't come say good morning. She always says good morning. Go to work. Come home for a brief moment. Still no booboo. Even when I crackle her bag of treats that she cannot resist. Leave for a quick trip to the mall. Back to get ready for a show. STILL no booboo. At this point, I'm pretty worried. She always greets me at the door. No good morning. No door. And we didn't even have a fight. Well, I look again, and still can't find her. Leave for the show and am more worried. This is definitely not her daily routine. Call Randy. He hasn't seen her either. Call Caroline. She finally calls me back and leaves me a message telling me "Animal control has found your cat. You lef' her in the linen closet." When I got that towel out last night, she snuck on in. I had no idea. She also tells me that when she opened the door, booboo's wide eyes were blinking slowly. She yawned and sauntered out. A few minutes later, Caroline walked by and booboo was sitting in front of the door staring at it. She really is one of the cutest things in the world. She loves to cuddle, loves to fight, loves to play, loves to make love to Randy and so on. I feel horrible~ and she's completely content and enjoyed her dark cave in which she was able to take a brief hybernation. I need a bigger linen closet so I can do the same.
